The video player offers various features to help you get the most out of your viewing experience.

The Video Player Interface

  1. Play/Pause button
  2. Current run time
  3. Progress bar, including video playhead
  4. Closed captions button
  5. Volume/Mute button
  6. Video speed and quality settings

How to Activate and Deactivate Closed Captions

  1. Click the CC (closed captions) icon on the video player interface.
  2. Click the English option to display closed captions. 

    Note: Click the Off option to hide the closed captions.

 

 

How to Manage Video Playback Speed and Quality Settings

To manage the speed settings:

  1. Click the Gear icon on the video player interface.
  2. Click the Speed option to display the video speed options.  

By default, the 1x speed option is selected; however, if you want to slow down the video speed, click the 0.5x or 0.75x option. If you want to increase the video speed, click the 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, or 2x option.

To manage the video quality settings:

  1. Click the Gear icon on the video player interface.
  2. Click the Quality option to display the video quality options.  

By default, the Auto option is selected; however, you can manually set your desired video quality setting by clicking one of the options from low quality (i.e., 224p, 260p, or 540p) to high quality (i.e., 720p, 1080p or 4K).

 

How to Access and Manage the Video Transcript Feature

To view the text of the video:

  1. Click the Gear icon on the video player interface.
  2. Click the Search Video option.  

This will display the video transcript, which appears as a video overlay. With this feature:

  • You can view the transcript while the video plays
  • You can pause the video and scroll through the transcript manually.
  • You can enter a keyword from the video into the Search textbox to access specific sections of content within the video.

Note: While this feature allows you to view the video transcript, it does not allow you to copy the text.
